Choosing the right item
Our fantastic staff are always happy to share their knowledge to help you choose the right product for your home. We understand that it’s important that whatever you buy does the job well, is within your budget, looks great and that you love it! Take your time to look at different options. Some of the technical detail relating to appliances can be overwhelming so make sure you talk to our staff – you may find their advice invaluable.
The best tip we can give is to try out anything you are interested in. Have a power nap on our mattresses, feel free to snuggle up on our sofas and spend as much time as you need testing dining chairs or recliners. There is no point in buying something that looks great but that you do not find comfortable.
Colour swatches are available so you can take a look at different fabrics in your home. If you see something you like but it’s not quite the right size, make sure you ask about other options. We don’t have the space to display everything we sell and some of our ranges offer ‘petite’ or space saving options.
How hard-wearing do you need the fabric on your sofa to be? If you have children, pets and a busy household, you may want to consider buying a sofa with built-in stain protection. Selected fabric on some of our sofa ranges are manufactured with using Aquaclean technology. Aquaclean is a revolutionary fabric treatment that allows you to clean stains using water only.
Think about whether the piece you have chosen will fit in your house. Make a note of the measurements of your chosen item. A good idea is to use newspaper or masking tape on the floor to see how much space it will take up.
For details on our delivery services and charges please read our delivery services page. To ensure delivery is as smooth as possible please do think about whether the item you have chosen can be delivered safely to your home. Here is a quick check list to help:
- Check the width and height of your front door and internal doors to be sure your product can be moved safely into your home
- Check the width and height of any narrow areas in your house your item needs to go through. For example hallways, internal doorways and staircases
- Let us know if there are steps and their condition in case we need to use any special lifting equipment
- Remember to tell us if there are any tricky corners
- We also need to know about any potential parking problems for our delivery van
If access is restricted, we will consider removing internal doors and the doors of appliances to gain access. Where, in our view, this is straightforward the charge for removing internal doors is £20. If the removal of any doors is, in our view, more complicated, further charges will apply.
Our delivery guys are fantastic and it is rare that they cannot get something into even the most challenging of houses. However, on occasion safe and damage-free delivery is impossible, in which case we reserve the right to refuse delivery. If you are unsure about delivery, someone from our delivery team can visit your house to check. This costs £20 which is refundable if you confirm your order. Please therefore do inform us of anything you think may cause a problem when placing your order. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or speak to our store team for further information and advice.
We offer national delivery of kitchen appliances and small appliances such as vacuum cleaners across England, Wales and parts of Scotland for an additional fee. We work with a logistics partner to fulfill these orders. On placing your order we will confirm the details of your order directly with you. When the item(s) ordered is in stock we will contact you to confirm the goods have arrived and that we will pass the details of your order to our logistics partner to arrange for your delivery. This is a two man delivery service and includes delivering the item to the room of your choice where the goods will be unpacked and checked prior to leaving the premises. Prior to bringing your item(s) into your dwelling the delivery team will check the delivery route with you to ensure there are no obstacles in the way. They will also identify any pre-existing marks or damage on the delivery route. Our logistics partner will provide you with a feedback survey to complete once the delivery team have left. This allows us to monitor the service you have received.
Please be aware that for national delivery of large items such as range cookers and side by side fridge freezers we can only deliver to a room on the ground floor. We are also unable to offer installation services where delivery of an item is over 25 miles of our stores.
Our small appliance national delivery service delivery is across England, Wales and parts of Scotland. We are unable to deliver to other locations outside of this area. Please be aware that we do not deliver to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isles of Man or the Isles of Scilly.
Large Item Delivery
Large appliances such as side by side refrigerators can be especially challenging because of their size and weight. Doors need to be more than 60cm wide to accommodate delivery. It is possible to deliver where doors are not as wide but we may need to consider removing internal doors and the doors of appliances to gain access. There may be an additional cost for this.
We offer installation for all products in our local delivery area. Please be aware that unless specified our prices are for standard installations, this requires that the correct connections are in place. If any additional work is needed such as moving pipework we can organise for this to be done, however it would incur further charges.
For more complicated product installations such as built-in appliances or gas installation we work with a qualified third party installer who can undertake specialist gas and electrical work. Prices for these installations can vary depending on your requirements so please check with one of our team by emailing email@example.com for prices.
We organise our deliveries so that our installer arrives at your property before delivery of your item, to disconnect the old appliance and be ready to install your new one.
If you are buying an induction hob or range cooker you will need to check with an electrician whether you have the correct electrical supply.
Within our local delivery area we can organise for a site survey to confirm if an installation, connection or delivery of a product is possible. A site survey fee is non-refundable and costs £20.00. This includes surveying gas and/or electrical connections and allows us to confirm your specific requirements for delivery, connection and installation of your item.
Occasionally with appliances we do need to undertake unforeseen work and by checking in advance we can be sure we have all of the correct tools and time allocated to deliver and install your appliance on the day, so we do also recommend having this when purchasing a large appliance. If you choose to have a site survey and purchase from us then £10 will be deducted from your installation fee.

Additional Services and Removal of old appliances
We can also assemble your new furniture or remove and dispose of old appliances when we deliver your new one. Please see our website or talk to one of our team for prices.
Guarantees vary depending on manufacturer and the type of product. Ask our staff about the products you are interested in for details. Please remember to register your guarantee to validate it and be aware that guarantees do not apply where appliances are purchased for commercial use.
