Induction Hobs
The technology behind the induction hob is older than you may think, dating back to the early 1900s, but it is only since the 1970s that it has been seen in modern kitchens. The induction hob uses electromagnetism creating a magnetic field between the heating coil and the pan to create the energy required. These hobs are very efficient, as well as cheaper to operate since they work by transferring heat directly to the pan instead of the hob surface. The latter does heat, but only as the pan transfers heat back. This type of hob is becoming ever more popular as energy prices increase and has the bonus of being easy to keep clean. A damp cloth will do the trick once the hob has cooled down. Here at Knees, we offer a wide range of these hobs from manufacturers such as Bosch, Neff, AEG, Zanussi and CDA.

The AEG induction hob is popular and comes in many versions including models with a venting system. The sense boil feature in this manufacturer’s hobs detects rising bubbles and adjusts the temperature, avoiding spillage. Meanwhile, a Bosch induction hob is perfect for the amateur chef, speeding up cooking by offering multiple cooking zones, whilst making a stylish statement in your kitchen. Another alternative you will find here at Knees is the Neff induction hob. Versions of this product come in a range of sizes beginning at 30cm up to 90cm. Some models combine two induction zones into one large spot. If you are searching for the best induction hob to suit your needs and your design aspirations, there is no better place to start than here at Knees. We can also help re-cycle your old appliance for a small fee and installation is available within 25 miles of our stores.
